Etta James Dies at 73

Etta James passed away today from complications with leukemia. She was a legendary vocalists known for bridging the gaps between R&B and rock and roll. Her voice was larger than any genre.

Etta James won 6 Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Rock & Roll (1993), Blues (2001), and Grammy (1999; 2008)  Hall of Fame. Her life was portrayed by Beyonce in the 2008 movie, Cadillac Records. She has faced several controversies, including a battle with heroin addiction.

Etta James, affectionately known as “Miss Peaches” brought us hits like “Something’s Got A Hold On Me”, “All I Could Do Was Cry”, and of course the popular wedding anthem “At Last”.

The world has lost a legend.
